About Edgar and Maria
Pastor Edgar and Maria have been married for 46 years, have 2 children and 2 grandchildren. In 1981 Pastor Edgar and Maria accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior. Born and raised in Guatemala they moved to the United States when they were 19 & 20. They have been serving the Lord since that time. They are so grateful for the mercy and grace He has shown them.
Pastor Edgar and Maria were living in Calgary and in 1984 moved back to New Orleans. They served in leadership at the Good Shepherd Baptist Church on the West Bank. In 2005 the church building was destroyed during hurricane Katrina. Two years later they moved to Houston and were led to pioneer Emmanuel Baptist Church.
In 2021 Pastor Edgar and Maria settled in Hammond where the Lord led them to the Mission Church where God has continued moving in their lives in a powerful way. When asked what their dream was, they answered, “to simply be obedient to the call of God on their lives”.

Pastor Edgar and Maria nacieron en Guatemala. Han estado casados por 46 años, tienen 2 hijos y 2 nietos.
En 1,981 viviendo en Calgary Edgar y María aceptaron a Jesús Cristo como su Señor y Salvador. Desde entonces han estado sirviendo a Jesucristo.
Pastor Edgar y María regresaron a Nueva Orleans en 1,984. Ellos sirvieron en el liderazgo de la Iglesia Bautista El Calvario en el West Bank/ Gretna. En 2,005 el edificio de la Iglesia fue destruido por el huracán Katrina. Dos años se movieron para Houston y fueron guiados a iniciar la Iglesia Bautista Emanuel.
En 2,021 Pastor Edgar y María decidieron establecerse en Hammond donde El Señor los guió a la Iglesia la Misión, Dios continua moviéndose en sus vidas de una manera poderosa. Cuando les preguntaron, ¿cual sería su sueño? Su respuesta fue “simplemente ser obediente al llamado que Dios nos ha hecho en nuestras vidas.”
